The Gulf as your campus

One campus, everything on it
Colleges, studios and labs share one purpose-built site in the hills south of the city.
Our story
Aqaba University of Technology is the first private university established in southern Jordan — built fifteen kilometres south of the city, on hills overlooking the Gulf, in a part of the Kingdom that had never had one.
We admitted our first students in 2015 into two faculties. Today there are seven colleges across engineering, pharmacy, technology, law, business, the arts and the health sciences — grown, deliberately, around what the region actually needs to hire.
What brought a university here was geography working twice: Aqaba’s special economic zone routes the Kingdom’s trade, tourism and port logistics through one small city, and a campus on the hills above it feeds that economy with the graduates it was missing. The site does the same favour for daily life — studios, laboratories and lecture halls overlooking the Gulf, a short drive from the port, the airport and the shore.
